On the 7th of May, 2022, a team of 12 AluK GB collaborators set out to climb Mount Snowdon to raise funds for Velindre Cancer Centre.
Mount Snowdon, at 1085 metres above sea level, is the highest peak in the magnificent Snowdonia range, as well as the highest mountain in both Wales and England. Its summit rewards the climber with spectacular and breath-taking views.
This challenging and demanding trek took six and a half hours to complete. The adventurous team enjoyed the incredibly rewarding experience immensely, creating unforgettable memories along the way. Their challenges included erecting tents during extremely heavy rainfall, a super-refreshing drench under a waterfall, and being chased by bulls in a field.
All for a Good Cause: Velindre Cancer Centre
Velindre Cancer Centre, Wales’ top cancer treatment centre, is known as the “Hospital of Hope”. It is the leading provider of specialised cancer treatments, as well as world-class care and support for cancer patients. In addition, it is known for its ground-breaking research into various different types of cancer, as well as different aspects of this crippling disease.
By dedicating themselves to completing this colossal challenge, our brave and kind-hearted AluK GB colleagues were able to achieve their objective. They raised a whopping £1,500 for the Velindre Cancer Centre.
Our heartfelt congratulations to Lee, Paul, Balazs, Tomasz, Gareth, Samara, Richy, Lloyd, Thomas, Hassaan, Niloo and Cary. We truly appreciate your immense efforts and commitment.
